Digitization of Production Planning

Low-Code at Salzgitter Mannesmann Stahlservice

For many years, Salzgitter Mannesmann Stahlservice GmbH used a Microsoft Access application for production planning. This solution was increasingly reaching its limits: it lacked interfaces, integration with other systems such as SAP was not possible, and processes could not be fully digitized. In addition, there was an urgent need to take action to eliminate redundancies in inventory information and manufacturing instructions.

Our Solution

In collaboration with Scopeland Technology, the existing Access application was replaced with a modern, web-based production planning system. The low-code platform SCOPELAND was used for this project. It enabled a rapid and customized implementation of the requirements—including real-time access to production-related data, integration with SAP, and cross-site usage.

The development process also provided an opportunity to reevaluate existing processes and make them more efficient. The low-code technology significantly accelerated implementation and enabled close collaboration between business departments and IT.

The Results

  • Future-proof system: The new web application completely replaces the old Access solution and integrates seamlessly into the existing system landscape.
  • Higher data quality: Consistent, centralized data management eliminated redundancies—particularly in warehouse and manufacturing data.
  • Greater transparency: Cross-departmental access to up-to-date data improves communication and collaboration.
  • Flexibility for the future: The low-code platform allows for quick adjustments as requirements change.

With Scopeland Technology, we have a strong partner at our side whose low-code platform helps us integrate our various applications.
